A Letter From The President: Congratulations To ATU 1765
Updated On: Apr 17, 2025

Congratulations to our ATU 1765 siblings on reaching a tentative agreement with the Intercity Transit Board. This powerful local has rallied our community to support all the drivers that keep our public transportation system running. As members of the Thurston Lewis Mason Central Labor Council, ATU 1765 has consistently stood in solidarity with our other locals during various actions. We are so thankful for their active work within our labor council and the community.

On a more personal note, it is very kind that they chose to write a resolution thanking the labor council for our work together. The work we do is never ending and it can be difficult to take the time and recognize each other for the tremendous amount of work that we all do. It has been an honor to support our siblings in their fight because I know that the only way to a safer and more prosperous community is by working together. It can be difficult to balance my rank-and-file job, parenting my two daughters alone and also being an unpaid officer of the labor council. Having the impact of the effort we have put into their contract campaign recognized makes it easier to pick up the next campaign and keep working towards a community that lives the values of economic justice.

Again, congratulations to the incredible members and staff of ATU 1765! You all fought so hard and we appreciate you showing our community what is possible when we fight together.
