TLM Labor Supports Our Local Food Banks - And So Should You!
Updated On: Mar 18, 2024

Organized Labor has a long history of service to our communities - a rising tide, as they say, lifts all boats!

Each year the Thurston - Lewis - Mason Central Labor Council donates funds to our area food banks (our thanks to LiUNA 252 Delegate Richie Meyer for recently delivering the CLC's donation in person to the Saints Pantry Food Bank in Shelton.)

Though TLM Labor does what it can to support food banks in the three counties we serve, the need is far greater than we can deal with alone. According to Feeding America, more than 8,000 people are food insecure in Mason County, 11,000 in Lewis County, and nearly 31,000 Thurston County.

These figures come from 2018 - before the COVID-19 pandemic. As you may imagine, things have gotten worse since then. We urge you and your union Locals to join us in supporting your local food bank and fighting hunger in our community.

Let's remind our communities that organized Labor doesn't just make things better for the members of our unions; it makes things better for everyone in the communities we live and work in.
