Stand Up For Public Libraries At TRL Board Meetings
Updated On: Jun 27, 2026

The Timberland Regional Library Board of Trustees often holds meetings online (click here to see when these meetings are held.) Please join us at these meetings to show your support for library workers and our library system.

Public libraries are essential community institutions, and the Timberland Regional Library system plays a vital role in the civic, educational, and economic life of our region. That’s why Delegates to the Thurston - Lewis - Mason Central Labor Council passed the attached resolution in support of public libraries and TRL staff, and that’s why we’re concerned about what’s happening in our libraries.

As the Board of Trustees navigates the current budget crisis working people in our region want to know:

  • Will our library system adhere to the American Library Association’s Bill of Rights?

  • How does the Board plan to keep TRL branches open, fully staffed, and accessible to everyone in our community?

  • What is the Board’s plan to fix the budget gap during these difficult economic times for working families?

These are essential questions that need answers. We hope you’ll join us at these online Board meetings - and before you do, that you contact your County Councilors:

Please share this post with anyone you know who is concerned about the state of our libraries. Let’s come together to make sure the TRL Board of Trustees knows working people expect them to maintain the health and viability of our library system for everyone who lives in our community.
